The Doug Paterson Memorial Bursary provides financial support for ministers in the Bay of Quinte Conference of the United Church of Canada who wish to extend their opportunities for continuing education in a manner which has some immediate application to the pastoral charge in which the minister is serving. Bursaries may be applied to tuition, travel or lodging.

The Bursary was established in memory of Doug Paterson, who served St. Margaret's United Church in Kingston ON from 1984 until his untimely death from cancer in 1992.
